During the fourth quarter of 2022, the top five food delivery apps in Kenya showcased varied performance metrics on a unified platform. Here are the key insights from their weekly downloads and active user trends.

Glovo: Food Delivery and More maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 7K and 11K. The app saw a notable spike in the week of December 19, reaching approximately 11K downloads. Weekly active users also demonstrated a steady increase, rising from around 125K at the beginning of the quarter to close to 135K by the last week of December.

Jumia Food: Food Delivery experienced a varied download trend, starting with 5.4K downloads in late September, peaking at 9.2K in early November, and ending the year at about 3.3K. Weekly active users exhibited an overall increase, starting at 64K and reaching around 77K during the quarter.

Bolt Food: Delivery & Takeaway showed consistent performance with weekly downloads hovering between 3K and 4K. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at approximately 56K and ending at around 57K, with slight fluctuations throughout the quarter.

Uber Eats: Food Delivery saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, starting at 2.7K and peaking at 5.3K in early December. Active users also showed a positive trend, beginning at about 45K and reaching nearly 55K by the first week of December, before slightly declining to 44.5K by the end of the month.

Tupande had a more modest performance in terms of weekly downloads, beginning with 1.7K and experiencing a peak of 3.7K in early October. The numbers then settled down to around 1.8K by the end of December.
